I am Odd Roar Olsen, born and raised in Ballstad, a small fishing village in Northern Norway. On this small island within the Lofoten Islands, 200 kilometers above the arctic circle, Ballstad, a home of about 1000 people, has been the center of fishing activities and the livelihood of the people for thousands of years.

Life on an island in the north of Norway

Growing up in a place where everything is earned through hard work and perseverance has been a profound opportunity for me. It instilled in me the firm belief that success comes through self-sacrifice and deserving it. This upbringing formed the core of my conviction that dedication and unwavering determination yield positive outcomes in life. The journey has been both enriching and challenging.

However, after spending time working and living outside Norway, I noticed that my body and mind weren't functioning at their best. This led me to investigate the reason behind it, and I realized that my diet at that time lacked sufficient fish and omega-3s. Omega-3 had been an integral part of our lifestyle while growing up, and it was as commonplace in Mediterranean countries as using olive oil. The deficiency of omega-3 in my diet was affecting my performance.

While living in Istanbul, the lack of access to fresh omega-3s became even more important as my wife was expecting our first child. Of course, I wanted to provide the best for the health and well-being of my wife and child. This personal experience further highlighted the need for a reliable and high-quality omega-3 supplement that can meet the specific nutritional needs of pregnancy and beyond. For several years I have personally brought omega-3 supplements from Norway, to meet our family's needs.
